Dayle is 39, Larry is 41. They’ve been married for six years, together for seven.
Who proposed?
Dayle: The story is that we had just bought [a business together] and we'd only been dating six months and he was saying, “So what do your friends and family think of this?” And I said, “Oh, they think it's great, but of course now they want to know when we’re getting married.” And he went really quiet, and I thought that I was scaring him, and I said, “Oh, I'm not worried about that! It's totally cool. No, it's fine!” And he's still really, really quiet. And then he just got down on one knee and proposed and told me the ring was in the mail.
Larry: At the time I was thinking, “You're an idiot! You had this all worked out; you only had to wait three more days!”
